    I.B. Scholarships

    Scholarships are available for incoming grade 11 (current grade 10) International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma students. The selected IB scholars will receive a tuition fee waiver from 20% to 80% for the duration of the two year program at Pinewood.

    Current grade 10 Pinewood students and prospective grade 11 students from other schools are invited to apply for the following scholarship opportunities:

    Eligibility

    In order for a student to be considered for an IB scholarship at Pinewood–The American International School of Thessaloniki, the candidate must demonstrate the following criteria:

    • Currently enrolled in grade 10 (or equivalent) in a High School in Greece or abroad
    • Excellent academic performance
    • Proficiency and comfort using English in reading, writing, listening and speaking
    • An interest in learning in a culturally diverse environment
    • Good citizenship and character
    • A desire to continue to Higher education in a North American, British, or other university abroad in which English is the language of instruction
    • Special interest or talent in an area outside of academics is highly desirable
    • Tuition fees are not fully or partially paid or sponsored by a third party
    • Demonstrated financial need (for scholarships of 40% or higher)

     

    Application

    All interested applicants must:

    • Complete the application form
    • Submit two academic/personal recommendations
    • Submit a minimum of two years of the previous years' school transcripts
    • Take a reading comprehension and writing test at Pinewood
    • Submit relevant documentation to demonstrate financial need (for scholarships of 40% or higher)*

     

    Candidates will be invited to an interview with admissions and administration representatives. Applications must be submitted to the IB Office or by email at scholarships@pinewood.gr

    Eligibility

    In order for a student to be considered for an IB scholarship at Pinewood–The American International School of Thessaloniki, the candidate must demonstrate the following:

    • Current enrollment in grade 10 at Pinewood
    • Excellent academic performance
    • Proficiency and comfort using English in reading, writing, listening and speaking
    • An interest in learning in a culturally diverse environment
    • Good citizenship and character, including positive HAL marks
    • A desire to continue to Higher education in a North American, British, or other university abroad in which English is the language of instruction
    • Special interest or talent in an area outside of academics is highly desirable
    • All financial obligations to the school are met by the March payment deadline
    • Tuition fees are not fully or partially paid or sponsored by a third party
    • Demonstrated financial need (for scholarships of 40% or higher)

     

    Application

    All interested applicants must:

    • Complete the application form
    • Submit two academic/personal recommendations
    • Submit relevant documentation to demonstrate financial need (for scholarships of 40% or higher)*

     

    Candidates will be invited to an interview with the IB Scholars Selection Committee, consisting of administration and faculty representatives.

    * Documents required to demonstrate financial need include: Both parents’ income tax document issued by the national government for the past two years and the most recent property declaration statement. These are the “Ekatharistiko” issued by the Greek Ministry of Finance and the E9 form, or any other documents issued by the national government. If the parents do not file tax returns, any relevant documentation available, such as a wage statement, salary certificate, or letter from their employer(s) stating annual income must be submitted.
